David Proffitt
Coach, Girls 13-Dave

David Proffitt got his start in volleyball, both as a player and later as a coach, in Sacramento. He played for the Cal State Sacramento men's club team for four years, winning a National Club Championship in 1997.

His club volleyball coaching experience includes a year with High Voltage Volleyball Club and one year at Spike City Volleyball Club before moving to San Diego. David coached in both the 15s and 16s age groups at Solana Beach Volleyball Club and started coaching at Epic in 2004 where he had the 15-2 team that finished 11th overall at the Volleyball Festival. David has coached in multiple age divisions at Epic. Dave has showed his tremendous versatility by coaching multiple teams in different age divisions for the past couple of years.

In the high school ranks, David coached for four years at El Camino High in Sacramento, and then one year at Bella Vista High. David served as the Varsity assistant coach for Santa Fe Christian High School and Interim Head Coach during the 2004 season when the team won the CIF Division 5 State Championship. He was the JV and assistant Varsity coach at Poway High School for three seasons. He also spent a season as the Varsity and JV coach at Mira Mesa High School before moving to the college ranks.

Dave is currently the assistant coach for both the San Diego Mesa Women's Indoor and Sand Volleyball teams.

Dave had a great season last year while coaching the Epic 18-1 team which finished the 2016 year in SCVA Division 1. He is very excited to be named the 18-1 head coach for this season, and he can't wait for the season to start!

It's easy to recognize David at Epic - he's the one who always has the biggest smile on his face.
