Head Coach, Girls 17-Steve
Gabi Mirand is a second year coach here at Epic volleyball club, coaching middle school fall teams and the head coach of one of the 16s teams last spring. By her lead, the team rose two divisions in SCVA. She also leads the fall middle school training program. Last fall, she also served as the assistant coach for JV at Rancho Bernardo High School. Gabi is a 2014 graduate of Southern Utah University and a 2015 graduate of High Point University, both where she was a respected student athlete. Beginning at Southern Utah University, she led her team on the court as a member of the All-Freshman team in the Summit League and as a captain in her sophomore season as they moved to the Big Sky Conference. As an incoming setter, she earned the privilege to be the starting setter as a freshman and sophomore. In her junior year, she took a medical red shirt year due to a severe knee injury. With persistence and dedication, she was able to graduate in three years to continue her volleyball career under Jason Oliver and Jake Hong, two Southern California natives, at High Point University in North Carolina. In her last two seasons in the Big South Conference, she accumulated many accolades that can only be attributed to the fervor and passion her and her teammates shared for volleyball. She received All-Tournament accolade in the Duke Classic Tournament, along with accolades in the conference tournament. In her final season, she was given the honor of receiving Scholar Athlete of the Year, and her team ranked 2nd in the conference season.
